The entire volume of 11,000 cubic meters of concrete will be poured non-stop at a stretch of 72 hours to set a national record.
The Chief Minister thanked the farmers for voluntarily giving 33,000 acres of land for capital development. "The Secretariat and HODs complex comprise of five tallest towners in the country standing at a height of 225 m. The four towers are 40 storeys tall, while the fifth one is 50 storeys tall. The complex is designed with world-class corporate office amenities for 16,000 employees and 10,000 visitors.
It will be built in 41 acres to accommodate 145 departments. The built-in area is around 56 lakh sq ft and 1.3 lakh sq ft with parking facility for 4,000 cars. The structural design is being done by world-class structural designers Buro Happold, London and peer review is being done by Thornton Tomasetti, USA.
The Chief Minister said for the first time in India, a structure is designed with the unique diagrid structural system which provides column-free interior space. He said that the building is connected with district cooling system grid for enhanced HVAC systems to lower maintenance costs. The cooling system will provide 20,000 tonnes of refrigeration for the overall government complex, saving 35% power.
Electrical vehicles will be used to prevent pollution and CO2 neutral environment will be ensured.
For this purpose, 500 acres of land and 1+4 buildings have been reserved for accommodating the financially weaker communities.
