The delegates proposed an integrated water management system which is a scalable and adaptable approach to manage water, one of the limited resources in Andhra Pradesh. This system includes desalination, conservation and management of ground and surface water, water trading, catchment management, water recycling and few other smarter methods for effective use of this resource. The Australian team hereby requested the Government of Andhra Pradesh to allot a pilot region to implement this system as soon as possible.

This project also includes,

  • Bringing in new water-intensive industries
  • Policies and Plans to conserve water sources
  • Method to capture and reuse the stormwater
  • Advanced irrigation technologies and innovations
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu hereby approved the association with the Australian delegation and emphasised the opportunities for the technologies in Andhra Pradesh. Approving the project, the Chief Minister said, “Through the projects like interlinking of the Krishna and Godavari rivers, the introduction of rain guns and techniques in conservation and management of water, AP is already mitigating water shortages in different parts of the state. We have a goal to complete one million farm ponds. I request the team to scale it accordingly and work on the final proposal.”

The CM marked the alliance with the Australian team and promised that all the departments of his government will coordinate and support the Australian delegation in all possible ways.
