CM said that the government is aiming to increase the use of technology in serving the citizens of the State. This will be done by integrating all the data and services on a single online platform. “We are strengthening the digital economy of Andhra Pradesh with the fiber grid. We are also working on providing a sensor-based street light system. Our weather prediction technology in association with ISRO is helping farmers in agriculture,” he said.
He also said that Singapore is providing the best infrastructure to its citizens. “Use of technology improves not only the quality of services provided but also accountability of the system to the citizens,” said CM.
“In trade and investments, we are doing well. Kia motors with an investment of $2 Billion is likely to start production by 2019. Many other investments have also come to the State. Singapore has a deep financial strength and AP has the skilled manpower. Together we can provide services and products to the world. We want to promote business leadership among the citizens of our country. We would like to associate with Singapore in this skill development initiative,” he added.
Mr Heng Swee Keat said that Andhra Pradesh is well known in Singapore for its innovative and hard-working citizens. The State is also known for the outstanding leadership of its Chief Minister. “The concept of a liveable, green city is as important as the economic development. Singapore is happy to be contributing to AP in this aspect. The digital economy is the only way ahead,” Mr Keat added.
