The Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Munjal, Managing Director & CEO, Hero MotoCorp, laid the foundation stone for Hero MotoCorp plant in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. This tie-up involves an investment of Rs.1,600 Crore which will generate employment to 15,000 starting its operation by December 2019.
Mr.Pawan Munjal said, “We are honoured that Andhra Pradesh is now part of the dynamic and rapidly evolving Hero Motocorp, which is consistently driving the Indian Two-wheeler Industry. We are here by bringing the globally benchmarked sustainable eco-friendly green manufacturing to the state. The plant will be fully operational by December 2019, this plant will take up the installed capacity of 11 million motorcycles. Riding on the power of its inherent resilience and innovation Hero has been playing a crucial role in providing modern and affordable mobility solutions to the Indian market. I am thankful for the whole-hearted support and commitment shown by the visionary Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu Garu”.
Addressing the meet the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said,“ Andhra Pradesh is the best place for logistics and ease of doing business in south India, I am confident that both Hero MotoCorp and Andhra Pradesh gets mutually benefited through this facility. With a goal of making Andhra Pradesh a distant No.1 with international standards, I welcome the world’s largest two-wheeler company to our state and I extend my complete support to their team.”
Targeting the middle class, Hero MotoCorp wants to catch hold of the vibrant Indian market with sustainable and innovative methods through their new manufacturing unit in Chittoor along with the five other units in India.
