On CM's visit to Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, the government of Andhra Pradesh donated 5,00,000 SGD to the university. The potential investment opportunities and the dynamic economic development of State of Andhra Pradesh were also discussed.
The Chief Minister said, “I am happy that I interacted with some of the manufacturers on Asia Policy Forum. Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy is considered to be the most prestigious institute with an international reputation and is at the cutting edge of research. We want to be among the best in the world and happy that LKY institute is helping us in achieving it. Singapore turned every crisis into opportunity and grew from adverse conditions into a world economic powerhouse. We take this as an inspiration for building Amaravati.”
“Now all the global leaders are looking into emerging aspects like technology, environment and water management and are working on how to make cities more liveable. Learning is a continuous process and I learn a new thing whenever I come here. AP also faced issues like bifurcation four years ago and is navigating through all initial difficulties and Singapore has helped us prepare a master plan in the initial days of the State,” he added.
CM said that their vision for AP is to be among the top 3 States in the country soon, and the top State in the country by the year 2029. He emphasised upon happiness and satisfaction of citizens as being the important factors for the overall development of Andhra Pradesh. He said, “We have an outstanding social infrastructure with universities, schools, hotels and hospitals. Our policies are best-in-class and provide the best incentives.”
The Chief Minister also addressed the gathering about AP's new capital city Amaravati, “With 30 km of waterfront, social infrastructure and trained manpower, Amaravati is an ideal place for investments. To ensure sustainable ecology we are taking steps to increase the green cover in AP. We are also promoting Zero Budget Natural Farming for sustainable agriculture, on a large scale.”
He said that all the programs implemented in the State are well targeted and have been successful in reaching the intended beneficiaries with the help of Aadhar seeding and modern technology.
“We have huge investments in food processing by Mondelez, Pepsi, ITC and along with several other MSMEs. Amaravati is going to be a major economic hub and not just an administrative centre. Tirupati is now the electronics hub for manufacturing. Foxconn has a large manufacturing facility in AP. Our single desk bureau has been very effective in granting early clearance for industries,” said the Chief Minister.
