The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri. N Chandrababu Naidu met the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi today.
In a meeting that lasted for one hour the Chief Minister urged the Hon’ble Prime Minister to fulfil all the assurances made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. The Act made six major assurances besides identifying 11 institutions of national importance in the state for development and 11 infrastructure projects. The meeting was steered towards achieving Special Assistance Measures guaranteed by the centre in the budget deficit state post bifurcation.
Mr. Naidu briefed the PM on the fast completion of Polavaram seeking help to overcome fund crunch and also completion of the project. The Prime Minister assured Mr. Naidu that he will provide all possible help and look into all the issues.
The Chief Minister submitted a 17-page memorandum seeking immediate help on the unfulfilled promises of Centre. The Grand Memo included requisitions for release of Balance Resource gap funds, Establishment of Petroleum and Cracker complex in Kakinada, New Railway Zone with Vizag as the centre, to increase AP Legislative Assembly constituencies to 225, establishing projects and institutions mentioned in schedule 13 and Financial Support to construction of New capital at Amaravati.
The CM also has pressed for actualising the establishment of Kapada steel plant, Vizag Chennai Industrial Carridor, Vizag Vijawada Metro and also alternatives for Duggarajapatnam Port.
